Helix Named Finalist for Golden Watchdog Award

Helix Water District is honored to be named as one of four finalists for the 27th Annual Golden Watchdog and Fleece Awards presented by the San Diego County Taxpayers Association

Helix was nominated for the Golden Watchdog Award in Municipal and Education Services for saving the district’s ratepayers $6.3 million dollars by rehabilitating its Tunnel Hill Tanks. This project prolonged the life of the tanks by 50-60 years and reduced future maintenance costs. You can see the project scope by watching the video below.

  • County of San Diego – Partner Relay Program
  • Helix Water District – Tunnel Hill Tanks Rehabilitation Project
  • San Diego County Office of Education – Development of Educational Materials on Antisemitism and Islamophobia
  • San Diego Unified School District and the San Diego Foundation – Level Up SD

Winners will be announced at the Golden Awards program on Thursday, November 16.
