Spring to Lake Jennings

It is finally spring! From March 31 to April 16, we are extending our hours at Lake Jennings and adding activities so you can experience all that spring and the lake have to offer.

Located just minutes away in Lakeside, Lake Jennings is the perfect place to visit. It is a scenic reservoir surrounded by wooded shorelines, flowering plants, breathtaking scenery, stunning vistas and serene mountain views.  It is also a prime location for many fun outdoor activities, such as hiking, fishing and camping.

Extended Spring Break Hours

The lake's extended hours give you more time for the activities you love. From Friday, March 31 – Sunday, April 16, Lake Jennings will be open seven days a week. Monday – Thursday hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and  Friday – Sunday hours are from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Lake Jennings completed stocking the lake with 2,000 pounds of trout last week and will be stocking another 1,500 pounds of trout on the week of April 3. This will be the season's second-to-last trout stocking, with the final trout stocking concluding the week of April 17.

With trout season in full swing and the bass biting, now is your chance to experience some of the best freshwater fishing in the county.

National Walking Day – Thursday, April 6

Lake Jennings is a great place to walk and exercise, with one of the most popular walks crossing the dam to the campground and back. In recognition of National Walking Day, visitors can get $10 off an annual walking pass, which is normally $65. This gives visitors unlimited access to the lake and campground trails during operating hours.   

RabbitApril 7-9 Spring into the Weekend

Campers at Lake Jennings will have many ways to celebrate spring. Staff will host kid activities during the weekend, including an egg hunt around the campground, pictures with the bunny on Saturday and springtime crafts.

Lake Jennings Spring Photo Contest March 1 – May 31

Lake Jennings Spring Photo Contest is awarding cash prizes of up to $150 to adults and kids for the best photos of the lake’s recreational activities, scenery and wildlife. The contest also offers participants a free day pass to explore and photograph this local East County gem. Before exploring the lake, participants should check in with campground or bait shop staff to receive their wristbands. Visit lakejennings.org for up-to-date information on hours and access.
