Scam alert

Person in orange jumpsuit with toolbox knocking on front door

On Monday, March 6, a Helix customer reported that two individuals said they were Helix Water District employees and requested to enter the customer’s home to test the plumbing.

Please be vigilant - impostors sometimes pose as utility workers to gain entry or access into unsuspecting victims’ homes. Imposters may claim they are a Helix employee or a contractor for Helix water.

The only time Helix staff or contractors would enter your home is if you have scheduled a home water use efficiency evaluation or are receiving a direct install toilet - and these appointments would be scheduled with you in advance. If you are ever unsure, ask to see the person’s Helix Water District employee ID card or call our office to confirm.

Help us keep our community safe and prevent these scams. If you experience a similar scam, please call 911, then call our customer service department at 619-466-0585.
