Helix Water District customers voted in November’s election to fill two board of director seats.
Director Andrea Beth Damsky is new to the Helix board and was elected to represent Division 2, which includes the northwestern areas of La Mesa, southwestern El Cajon and parts of the Mt. Helix area.
Director Kathleen Coates Hedberg was reelected to represent Division 4, which includes La Mesa and portions of Mt. Helix, Casa de Oro and Calavo Gardens. She is the 2022 board president and was first elected in 2006.
The district is governed by a five-member board elected by the communities in which they live. They serve four-year terms. Board members represent Helix and its customers in local, regional and statewide issues and policymaking.
Directors Damsky and Hedberg join current Division 1 Director Dan McMillan, Division 3 Director Mark Gracyk and Division 5 Director Joel Scalzitti.
The board will make committee assignments and elect officers for 2023 in January.
