Pipeline Replacement Projects

CIP21003 - Cast iron pipe replacement with PVC pipe in El Cajon.

Locations

  • Chambers Street, Cypress Avenue and Manor Drive, plus two alleys in El Cajon
  • East Madison Avenue in El Cajon

Scope of Work

  • At Chambers St. location, construct approximately 3,400 feet of 8-inch PVC, replacing approximately 3,400 feet of 6-inch, 8-inch, cast-iron pipe. Reconnect 53 water services to new mains.
  • On East Madison Ave., construct approximately 2,200 fee of 12-inch PVC , replacing approximately 2,200 feet of 12-inch cast-iron pipe. Reconnect 38 water service to new main.

Purpose
This is a priority project under the cast-iron pipeline replacement program. There were water main breaks on Chambers Street in 1993 and 2017, and on Manor Drive in 2013.

East County Advanced Water Purification Project

CIP21008 - Upgrades to Chet Harritt Pump Station in Lakeside.

Scope of Work
Replacement and construction of Chet Harritt Pump Station.

Purpose
This project is part of the East County Advanced Water Purification Program Joint Powers Authority agreement.

Tank Recoating Projects

Aldwych Tanks in Fletcher Hills area of El Cajon and the Windsor Hills Tank in Lakeside.

Scope of Project:
Recoating of three reservoir tanks.

Purpose:
Recoating tanks is part of the preventive maintenance program to extend the life of our tanks to 50-60 years.

Pump Station Replacement Project

Purpose:
Improve reliablity and operating efficiency, and standardize the design of the electrical switchgear to improve safety and maintenance.

Aqueduct 1 Project

Location: 
Lakeshore Drive and easements in Lakeside

Scope of Project:
Design and construct cathodic protection for the 36-inch raw water concrete cylinder pipeline that was recently repaired from having at least 60% metal loss from Helix 1 Flow Control Facility to Julian Avenue. 

Purpose:
Corrosion protection of the pipeline.

Facilities Projects
