jjAlert! Potential water testing scam

Several customers have reported advertisements left on their doors for “county wide water testing.” These advertisements have only a phone number, which, when dialed, connects to a company located in Oregon.

While it is unclear as to why the company would like to test water inside homes, it is possible that this company wishes to sell expensive “water treatment” products that may or may not improve water quality or taste. Or, these individuals may simply be seeking entry to your home for other unknown purposes.

Helix Water District does not ask to enter homes to test water without prior notice. Helix personnel are always identified by a marked car and photo identification.

Please, take care when approached by anyone claiming to be from Helix, or any other water provider, wishing entry to your home.

The water delivered to your home by the Helix Water District meets or exceeds all state and federal water quality criteria. (see our water quality report)

Should you have any concerns about your water, please, contact us at: (619) 466-0585.
