of the Association of California Water Agencies/Joint
Powers Authority present Helix Water District's
board with a refund check from its general liability
insurance premium. The District is insured through
ACWA/JPIA, a public entity formed in 1979 to provide
risk-sharing pools to meet the needs of its members
for property, liability, and workers' compensation
coverage. |

Water District board of directors voted to suspend
the El Monte Valley Mining, Reclamation, and Groundwater
Recharge Project . The project halt is primarily
due to a delay in the availability of advanced treated
recycled water and increased project cost.
