The
Water Conservation Garden, a joint venture of Helix
Water District, Otay water District, Padre Dam Municipal
Water District, Cuyamaca College, San Diego County Water
Authority, and the City of San Diego, continues to be
an effective illustration of water conservation and
an outstanding example of xeriscape landscape architecture.
Many thousands of visitors have come to The Garden to
browse and attend meetings, seminars and other special
events. The Garden also received a prestigious Orchid
Award in the annual Orchids and Onions event sponsored
by the American Institute of Architects, San Diego Chapter.
Docents have volunteered more than 4,000 hours at The
Garden and contributions to cover expenses for upkeep
and exhibits are always welcome. For information about
making a donation, please call (619) 660-1684.
Garden Days/Hours: Open daily, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.,
some holidays excepted. Summer hours (June 1 to Aug.
31): Closed Mondays, open Wednesdays until 7 p.m.
